A NEW database of heritage places relating to Casey’s war history was launched last week.
The website, www.veterans.vic. gov.au, documents the history of Casey’s war memorials, Avenue of Honours, memorial buildings and defence-related sites around Casey.
Known as the Victorian War Heritage Inventory, the searchable database lists war memorials in Casey and provides information, images and location data about them.
South Eastern Metropolitan Region MP Inga Peulich said the sites aimed to remind people of the service and sacrifice of veterans and current serving personnel.
“This database is part of the Baillieu Government’s commitment to educate the community about the importance of our monuments and other places associated with Victoria’s war history,” Ms Peulich said.
