STUDENTS at Lysterfield Primary School will have more room to learn and play with the opening of new classrooms and sporting groups recently.
Labor Senator for Victoria David Feeney opened the new Year 5 and 6 classrooms and sporting grounds worth $2.2million which were built as part of the Federal Government’s Building the Education Revolution (BER).
Mr Feeney said local residents also benefited from the new addition at Lysterfield Primary School.
“Construction works for this project created local jobs. This is what this Labor Government strived to achieve, jobs to get families through the Global Financial Crisis,” Mr Feeney said.
“This is the essence of Labor’s Economic Stimulus Plan,” he said.
The BER is a key element of the Australian Government’s $42 billion Nation Building, Economic Stimulus Plan to support jobs, stimulate local economies and invest in important infrastructure for the long-term.
