Four out of five

CRANBOURNE’S lady bowlers had a successful week winning four of their five pennant matches.
Cranbourne Division One side was defeated by the top side Armadale at home by 17 shots.
All rinks were down but could take heart from the fact that they were playing a former Australian bowler and three former State bowlers. The Division One side will maintain its position in third place on the ladder. Cranbourne Division Two side had a good 10-shot win away at Edithvale. Two rinks were down by one shot each, but Brenda Morrisons’ rink won by 12 shots, which was enough to hold their position of second place on the ladder.

Cranbourne Division Three open side defeated Riversdale Golf by a huge 27 shots away from home. All rinks were up on the day with Vhonda Bonney’s rink up by 11 shots, Renata Van Soest’s rink up by two and Gerry Dudink’s team of Sue Heggs lead, Olive Stanley second and Betty Carrigan third, had a great win by 14 shots. Division Three will keep its position of third place on the ladder with only a few points separating third and second place.
Cranbourne Division Five open side won by the smallest of margins at home against the top side Elsternwick Park.
Cranbourne Division 10 Saturday ladies side had a convincing win over Vermont South last Saturday winning by 21 shots. The Cranbourne Ladies Singles Club Championship will be held on Sunday 18 December at 1pm between Lyn Whalley and Yvonne VanDerWees.
