IT’S a Christmas spectacle, complete with music, lights, and all the extras.
Paul and Belinda Kilner’s house, on Louise Baille Avenue in Narre Warren South, has been attracting hundreds of visitors for the past four years.
Mr Kilner, an electrician by trade, said it was a request from his sons Joshua, 6, and Mitchell, 9, four years ago to decorate the house, which started the annual lights show.
Now Casey residents make special trips to the house to check out the show year. The house is decorated in 70,000 LED lights linked in by a computer and synchronised to music including traditional Christmas carols and modern rock.
Last year, the house was decorated by 40,000 lights.
“We have stepped it up this year. It just keeps getting bigger and better,” Mr Kilner said.
“This year, the main feature is a Cinderella carriage with two horses and a Santa.”
Mr Kilner said everyone was welcome to check out the show, which runs until 11pm on weekdays and finishes at 11.30pm on Saturday.
Residents who want to stay in their cars and watch the show can tune into the music on 98.3FM.
Mr Kilner said he loved getting in the Christmas spirit, but might feel the aftermath of the show after the holidays.
“I am not looking forward to getting the power bill,” he laughed.
“But it entertains the locals. A lot of people have thanked us for what we have done. That makes it all worthwhile.”
