MONBULK Scouts are ready to show off their newly renovated home to new members.
Cub Scout leader Dierdre Lancaster said Monbulk Scout Hall was now looking its best thanks to a $14,000 makeover from Scouts Australia.
Asbestos has been removed from the Monbulk-Silvan Road building, internal walls have been repositioned, and the façade and windows received an upgrade. “It makes it look more presentable to the public,” she said. “And obviously there were health issues with the asbestos.”
The building also received a new roof earlier this year, and could be set for an extension to accommodate even more fun and games.
The active group has 30 members but would love to welcome more, particularly to its new Joey Scouts group for kids aged six to eight years old.
Ms Lancaster said fun and exciting activities for cubs included canoeing, abseiling, archery and cooking. Call 9754 6741 or 0411 103 966 for more information.
