Get sassy with Sassi

DANCERS can step out in sassy style for fun, fitness or study at Sassi Dance in Lilydale.
If not the spicy salsa or passionate tango, they can try the cheeky cha-cha or smooth swing.
“Music moves you, and Sassi Dance can show you how easy and fun dancing and learning how to dance can be,” owner Catherine Saisi said.
For more than 10 years Sassi Dance has been running classes in street Latin, social ballroom, Dancesport, rock ‘n’ roll and more.
The studio caters to all ages from tiny tots to adults, and from beginners to advanced students and competitive dance under the auspices of Dancesport Australia and the Australian Dancing Society.
“Our children’s classes teach social skills, confidence and self-esteem through partner dancing and from this etiquette, courtesy and respect are developed as the children have fun dancing to modern music,” Ms Saisi said.
Teenage students Jordan and Monique started their dancing with Sassi Dance and are currently placed fourth in Australia and are undefeated Victorian Champions in the Junior Open field.
Meagen Alderton is ranked number 25 in the world and is one of Australia’s most sought after professional Latin coaches, and is available for teaching and/or coaching at Sassi Dance.
Lucio and Catherine Saisi, Naomi Short, Andy Donnelly and other staff want to share their knowledge, experience and various skills with the community.
“Whether you want to integrate dancing into your social life, looking for fitness, wanting to compete or do examination under the syllabus of the Australian Dancing Society, Sassi Dance’s friendly, professional staff can make it happen for you,” Ms Saisi said.
