THE GEM Community Arts Theatre in Emerald will next month host two award-winning actors in its new, exciting suspense thriller ‘Wait until Dark’.
Chris Shaw and Matthew Phillips each won acting awards at the Lyrebird Awards held earlier this month at Karralaika Theatre in Ringwood.
‘Wait until Dark’ first found fame as a film starring Audrey Hepburn and Gemco Players are welcoming director Barry O’Neill to guide the production.
Gemco’s David Greenaway said: “The play builds up thesuspense to a climax wherethe wits of a blind person anda teenage girl take on the cunning of well-known, ruthless criminals.”
Written by Frederick Knott, ‘Wait until Dark’ plays on the themes of darkness and light as protagonist Susy navigates through a sightless world and criminals signal each other through Venetian blinds.
