Bank on success

DANDENONG Ranges Community Bank Group aims to be the way of the future by distributing profits back into the community and servicing everyday and business banking needs.
The group operates the Upwey, Belgrave and Cockatoo/Gembrook Community Bank branches, the Olinda/Mt Dandenong branch, and Emerald and Marysville agencies.
It has distributed $1.8 million back to community groups within its business catchment through grant and sponsorship programs.
“This money together with another $500,000 set aside for major community projects and $890,000 distributed in dividends to mainly local shareholders, is a fantastic reason for locals to bank with one of our branches,” board chairman Peter Marke said.
Bendigo Bank was also recently named Business Bank of the Year 2011 at Roy Morgan Research’s inaugural Customer Satisfaction Awards.
The accolade followed the bank recording the highest business customer satisfaction score in the Roy Morgan December survey, with a rating of 75.4 per cent – almost six points ahead of its nearest competitor.
Dandenong Ranges Community Bank Group senior group manager Mike Fleming said the results and the award demonstrated its efforts to deliver industry-leading customer service.
“In addition to this, we continue to out-perform the big four in business customer satisfaction,” he said.
“This is another pleasing result and on behalf of the bank and all our staff I would like to say thank you to our business customers for their continued support.”
Mr Fleming said sharing prosperity with customers and the wider community was a core value of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank and was the secret to the bank’s longevity and success.
“We believe successful customers and successful communities create a successful bank, but only in that order,” he said.
“So it is gratifying to know our customers are broadly satisfied with their experience with our bank.”
