Kinder choice

By EMMA SUN
PRESCHOOLER parents will have another kindergarten to choose from when works on Mount Evelyn Christian School’s (MECS) new centre are complete next year.
The kindergarten is catered towards three and four-year-olds, and will be able to take about 56 tots for the 2013 school year.
There will be two dedicated classrooms, as well as a play area for the youngsters.
MECS school principal Martin Hanscamp said the kindergarten was a qualitative addition that would allow the school to further partner with families in the area.
“Usually when families make connection with schools they want a sense of continuity and seamlessness, and kindergartens typically they stand alone,” he said.
“We built an early year centre so parents don’t have to build one relationship and then build another when their child gets out of kindergarten.”
The school is currently accepting expressions of interest from the community.
