Move to save Swinburne

THE Mount Evelyn Environment Protection and Progress Association (MEEPPA) has called on township groups in and out of the Yarra Ranges to save Swinburne Lilydale.
MEEPPA passed a unanimous motion at its meeting last month to inform Swinburne, the State Government and the Federal Government of their request to continue the existing campus as a tertiary institution.
President Francis Smith said it would also support the committee for the Save Our Swinburne and urged other township groups to back the cause to preserve the campus for the benefit of future generations.
“MEEPPA now calls upon all other township groups within this region to follow suit and support the preservation of the…Swinburne Campus at Lilydale to have its funding reinstated and that this continue, under guarantee, for the future generations of our communities.”
