THOUGH summer has drawn to a close, the heat has continued to endure with a week-long stretch of high temperatures and the locals flocked to the pools to cool off.
On Saturday 9 March, Belgrave sweltered through a maximum of 34.3 degree temperatures with the sun beating down and Belgrave’s Heated Outdoor Pool became an escape from the worst of the heat.
The pool will be closing Tuesday 12 March at 7.30pm after an extended opening season for what has been one of the hottest summers on record.
The current heatwave, which has consisted of a week of warm weather and no rainfall, is expected to break with a cool change on Wednesday evening and possible showers Thursday morning.
Yarra Ranges Council urges residents to drink water regularly during the warm weather.
