Tee off with legends

BUSINESS owners and those after a good day of golf will have a treat as a business legend and sporting legend make an appearance at an upcoming event.
The Yarra Ranges Business and Tourist Group will be holding their inaugural Golf Day at Healesville’s RACV Country Club on 18 March.
The day will begin at 9am for a 9.30am tee off and founder of Safeway Australia Bill Pratt will be speaking about business at a lunch session.
Mr Pratt became the leader of Safeway Australia in 1967 after the American Safeway Incorporated made its way to Australian shores.
Also present on the day will be AFL sporting legend Tom Hafey who will be running a memorabilia auction.
Mr Hafey is an inductee to the Australian Football Hall of Fame and former coach for Richmond Football, Collingwood and Geelong Football Clubs.
Entry to the event is $100 and includes the golf game, lunch and a polo shirt and those not wishing to play golf can pay $35 for the lunch part of the day.
The golf game will take a step away from tradition and be played in Ambrose style – with teams of four competing against one another.
Included in the golf sessions will be games of nearest the pin, along with longest drive and putting competitions.
Players are still needed for the event and anyone interested can contact Gary Freeman at 9736 2251.
