Prostate fund-raiser hits road to Perth

FOUR Kallista men will ride 4500 kilometres from Perth to raise money for Prostate Research.
On 1 April, Ross Byrne, Peter Hayne, Tony Clayton and Gary Johnson will join a team of 25 riders and eight support crew crossing West to East on ex-postie 110cc motorcycles.
The four men, all with links to Kallista Primary School and all in the “Prostate Danger Window”, are part of the 33-man team raising funds for Prostate Research.
As fund-raising targets have been passed and reset on three occasions and donations and sponsorship pass $300,000, the success of the journey is already assured.
With the support of Ride Patron – AFL Legend and prostate survivor David Parkin – and with further events to be held in Perth and with the Adelaide Crows football team, more target renewals are assured.
The ride will end Saturday 13 April, at the MCG where David Parkin is scheduled to be interviewed on TV before that day’s twilight game.
Tour leader Tony Clayton said the ride is about raising awareness “among those of us who should know.”
Those wishing to make contributions of any amount, should visit the event website at pcfafundraising.org.au.
