CHILDREN at Monbulk Primary School’s after school care received a special surprise recently when they were visited by a couple of local basketball superstars.
The children had been learning about basketball all term as part of the Active After-School Communities.
Mo Williams and Laurence Donelson III from the Sherbrooke Sun Big V Championship Men’s team helped conduct a range of activities along with fellow basketballer James Farish-Carradice, who was also involved in the Aussie Hoops clinics that run in Cockatoo and Monbulk.
“Active After School Communities is a fantastic initiative for primary school aged children and Sherbrooke Basketball are proud to be involved,” Mr Farish-Carradice said.
“We hope to be able to run future clinics with primary schools in the area and encourage more children to get involved with basketball.”
Mr Williams and Mr Donelson III will be running a series of school holiday basketball clinics for youths aged 10-20 from 3 to 5 April at Upwey High School Basketball Stadium and from 10 to 12 at Monbulk Secondary College Basketball Stadium.
