Roll car flips A CAR flipped onto its roof after sliding down a steep driveway in The Patch while its driver was getting tools out of the back on Monday morning. Belgrave Police Station Sergeant Craig West said he was driving on Emerald-Kallista Road at 8.50am when the incident happened before his eyes. The road was blocked for about an hour and a half as firefighters and other crews worked to get the car back upright. The car, a write-off, was towed away. Sgt West said the car was in park, but was unsure whether the handbrake was applied.

Tree fall splits house
A MAN had a lucky escape after a tree fell on his Kallista home last Saturday at 11pm, splitting it in half.
Monbulk Police Station Leading Senior Constable Glenn Barkway said the large tree, which was more than 30 metres tall and one metre in diameter, fell due to the wet conditions and landed across the middle of his Monbulk Road house, also hitting the house next door.
He said the man had been asleep in his bedroom at the front of the home when the incident happened.

Burger bike
A FERNY Creek man has been fined for riding his motorbike through the proposed Tecoma McDonalds site.
The 50-year-old received an infringement notice for riding through a pedestrian area.

Stabbing charges
A HEALESVILLE man will face assault and weapon related charges after stabbing a man twice last Wednesday.
The 31-year-old stabbed his friend, a 41-year-old Lilydale man, in the leg and arm at about 2.45pm before leaving on a bus to Coldstream.
The man was later picked up by two friends in their car, where he allegedly threatened them with the knife and was forced to get out on Maroondah Highway.
He then stabbed the tyres and threw items out of the car before getting in another vehicle to Healesville, where he was arrested by police.
The Lilydale man was taken to Maroondah Hospital.

Burglary charges
A BELGRAVE Heights man has been charged with burglary, theft and drug related matters after Olinda police intercepted a vehicle in Mt Dandenong last Friday.
Leading Senior Constable Geoff Long said they found numerous items in the car, including jewellery, foreign currency and mobile phones, which were believed to have been recently stolen from homes around Olinda.
Ldg Sen Const Long said police have been concerned that burglaries around the hills were on the increase, and were very pleased to have “got on top of it early”.
The 40-year-old will face the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

Driver tracks stolen car
A SHERBROOKE woman who had her car stolen from Ringwood train station last Monday evening received double the shock when she was overtaken by her own car in Upwey the next day.
Police said after she picked up a hire car she saw the very car she was forced to replace along Burwood Highway last Tuesday morning.
The woman phoned the police and followed the car to Foodworks, where police arrested the two men.
A 39-year-old from Boronia was remanded in custody, and a 32-year-old from Ringwood has been bailed to face the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court at a later date for theft of motor vehicle.

Tyre stolen
A TYRE was stolen from the rear passenger side of a Toyota Yaris parked on Sandells Road, Tecoma overnight last Sunday.

Burglary look-out
POLICE are urging residents around Belgrave Hallam Road in Narre Warren East to be wary of suspicious activity following a spate of residential burglaries over the past two weeks.
A construction site was also targeted, where construction equipment worth $15,000 was stolen.
