Tenth win for Monbulk Tigers

Monbulk Rangers Soccer Club

Monbulk Rangers Under-8
Tigers v Knox Churches Force
The Monbulk Tigers U8 won a hard-fought battle against Knox Churches under-8 Force to notch up their 10th win for the season at Menzies Creek Reserve on Saturday.
The Tigers were missing key striker Charlie Murphy but goal scoring machine Nate Shovelton continued his impeccable form, booting the Monbulk team home to a 2-1 win.
Nate unleashed a shot into the back of the net just minutes after the game started.
The two teams were then locked in an even contest in the first half, with the Force unlucky not to score.
Tigers goalie Sam Lees was unshakeable and defender Georgia Knight used her powerful kick to return the ball quickly into the forward half for the Tigers.
The strong running of Tigers Noah McGuinness, Tameem Alkhlawi and Marco and Joe Friguglietti kept the Force on their toes.
There were some exciting passages of play in the second half as the Force came back strongly, peppering the Tigers goal and kicking the leveller.
Some strenuous work in goal by Tiger, Abe Posetti was rewarded when the ball was taken quickly back up the field by Joshua Prass and Casper Griffiths, for Nate Shovelton to dodge a Force defender and kick the winning goal.
