Footy fever spreads

By REBECCA BILLS

FROM the principal down to the prep students, footy fever has hit Belgrave South Primary School hard.
Adorned in various team colours, students and teachers paraded around the school this week to get into the spirit of the AFL football finals.
Library technician Jenny James said being a sports fanatical school everybody supports the event.
“All the rivalry is just great between the staff and students and they just enjoy seeing each other and the different teams they barrack for,” she said.
“It is great fun and a good way to end the term and to cheer in the end of the footy season.
“It’s our favourite day of the year, we just absolutely love it.”
Grade 5 student and Carlton supporter Caspa said he wants to play for the team when he leaves school.
“I love the game because you can run in it and kick goals,” he said.
“Today is a fun day because you can see what team everyone else barracks for and the rivalry is good.”
