MUSICIAN Tim Rogers is embarking on a series of headline shows around the country kicking off the tour at Belgrave’s very own Sooki Lounge.
In support of his latest release Rogers Sings Rogerstein, his forthcoming tour focuses on his strong connection to the regional parts of Australia and the bond of these cities.
Rogers will also be joined by long-time friend and musical companion, guitarist Shane O’Mara.
Formally, Rogers was the front-man of Australian Rock n’ Roll band You Am I and has also released 10 studio albums – three of which have debuted at number one.
His records have also received ARIA awards alongside multiple platinum and gold for commercial sales.
Since You Am I, Rogers as released critically acclaimed solo albums as well as a number of collaborations with fellow musicians including Tex Perkins, The Temperance Union and The Bamboos.
Sooki Lounge owners and local couple Suzana Pozvek and Stephen Crombie said the venue is a place dedicated to being a space where the community can come and enjoy quality food, drinks and entertainment without the big price tag.
“Initially this we have dealt with just local artists but now we are looking at getting more acts from around Melbourne and nationally,” Ms Pozvek said.
Tim Roger with Shane O’Mara will be playing at Sooki Lounge on Thursday 20 March from 7.30pm.
Sooki Lounge is located at 1648 Burwood Highway, Belgrave.
