Vicious raid

TWO staff members are recovering in hospital following an armed robbery at a Olinda hotel.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said that two offenders wearing balaclavas made their way into the hotel not long after 2am carrying blunt instruments.
They then assaulted male and female staff members, both in their 50s, leaving them with serious head injuries.
The matter is being investigated by the Armed Crime Taskforce and urged anyone who saw someone in the area at the time to contact police.

Office ransacked
POLICE are investigating a break-in at Macclesfield Primary School over the weekend.
Monbulk Leading Senior Constable Peter Edyvane said that thieves broke into and ransacked the school office.

Chill wind
FROZEN food was stolen from a Gembrook restaurant on Friday night.
Emerald Sergeant Fiona Tolmie said thieves broke two front glass windows and the front door.
She said the thieves then made their way into the rear yard where they broke a lock on the shed before stealing the food.

Knicker nicker
Detectives from the Knox Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team have charged a man following a recent spate of snow dropping offences.
The 38-year-old Montrose man has been charged with two counts of theft and police have recovered a large quantity of women’s underwear alleged to have been stolen from residential homes over the past several months.
The man has been bailed to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 31 July.
