GEE Jays Fashions may have changed suburbs in recent years, but offering a wide range of fashion items and a friendly experience is still at the heart of the business.
Opening in the Boronia Mall in 2004, the shop – named after owner Jacinta Pettiford (Jay) and her husband Glenn (Gee) – has now moved to Upwey, where the owners grew up and live.
Jacinta said the new location of the shop – on Main Street, Upwey – was optimal for hills residents, and offers the fashion shopping experience without the stress and sterility of big shopping centres.
Gee Jays Fashions sells ladies clothing up to size XXL, handbags, jewellery, accessories and giftware on offer, with labels such as Sun, Wish Stone, Leoni and Wakee on the racks.
Anyone wanting to accessorise doesn’t need to look further than Gee Jays, with necklaces, watches and more to help add the final touches to a new outfit.
Jacinta said the range doesn’t end in the shop – customers can come along with ideas of items they’re after, and the friendly staff would try to source them.
She said the personable atmosphere was one of the keys to the business, and urged anyone passing by to stop in, have a browse or a cuppa.
“We would love to meet and get to know you,” she said.
Gee Jays Fashion is located at 52-54 Main Street, Upwey, and is open from Monday-Friday, 9.30am-5pm and Saturdays from 9.30am-4pm.
