MONTROSE pre-schoolers will benefit from $10,000 funding from the State Government.
Sarah Court Preschool will use the funding for an upgrade to its outdoor play area which will include a new cubbyhouse.
“This is great news for local families as their children will be able to directly benefit from these upgraded early years services,” Mr O’Donohue said.
“I am so pleased that this funding will provide better facilities for our fantastic local kindergartens, including upgraded playgrounds and improved storage space,” Monbulk candidate Mark Verschuur said.
The grants are a result of the State Government building a better Victoria by supporting 643 Victorian kindergartens and children’s centres to upgrade their facilities and IT systems through $2.9 million in grants.
Minister for Children and Early Childhood Development Wendy Lovell said the grants were crucial to ensuring Victorian early years services could continue to deliver world-class learning programs for Victorian families.
“Victoria already leads the nation in early childhood education and care, and by improving early years facilities and infrastructure, we are making Victoria an even better place for families to raise their children,” Ms Lovell said.
Sarah Court Pre-school will host its first annual Healthy Harvest Festival on Saturday 13 September, and is bringing much of the Montrose community along for the ride.
The event is a celebration of healthy local living and its aim is to inspire people to buy locally, grow edible food, and learn ways to prepare fresh, healthy meals.
The festival’s celebration of all things local piqued the interest of the Montrose Traders Association and after several brainstorm sessions, a unique partnership was formed.
