YOU don’t often see 380 cars and bikes parked in downtown Monbulk for nine hours, but that’s exactly what drew over 2000 people to Main Street last Sunday.
Owners of cars and bikes of all different eras, makes and colours gathered in Monbulk on Sunday for the second annual Monbulk Classic Car and Bike Show, hosted by the Monbulk Business Network.
President John Coleman said the show had an excellent turnout and raised much-needed funds to buy a defibrillator for the Monbulk CFA.
“The weather was excellent and visitors said they saw cars here that they haven’t seen at any of the bigger events.
“People came from all over Melbourne to show their cars and the community really responded.”
Cars and bikes filled the main street from 7-4 and visitors were asked for a gold coin donation, while exhibitors contributed $5 each.
The Monbulk Business Network hopes to see even more cars and bigger crowds when the event is hosted again next year.
“It’s great to be able to hold these kinds of events to help the community. The day was definitely a success.”
