New course chartered for golf

By MELISSA MEEHAN

DWINDLING membership numbers meant the future of the Emerald Golf Course was bleak, but it’s about to get a new lease of life, and hopefully, members will keep coming.
BSF Golf Management led by Brian Hall and Bryan Harper recently took over the management of the golf course and have plans to get it into shape.
“We’ve been in the golf business and operating golf courses for over 25 years,” Mr Hall said.
“And we believe that our experience and ability to rejuvenate the Emerald Golf Course will bring back members of the community, whether they be members or day visitors.”
BSF Golf Management also manages a number of other golf courses across Melbourne including Wattle Park in Surrey Hills and Studley Park in Kew.
Mr Hall said that works had already started on the golf course, and once that was finished they would start work on the venue and pro shop.
“The quality of golf course surfaces means more enjoyment for our members and visitors,” he said.
