Teen faces cannabis charges
POLICE have charged a 15-year-old Seville youth with possession of cannabis and alcohol in Monbulk over the weekend. He has been bailed to appear at Ringwood Children’s Court at a later date.
Senior in miraculous escape
AN elderly driver had the ride of her life in Olinda on Wednesday afternoon when she accidently pressed the accelerator rather than the break when parking her car.
Olinda Senior Constable Warren Pearce said the 75-year-old woman was parking her car along the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road when she had accidently accelerated.
“She’s then driven onto the other side of the road, over the embankment and into the car park where she has landed on the bonnet of a Holden Colorado,” Sen Const Pearce said.
“She’s then somehow wedged herself off and landed in the drive way of Fortnums Olinda.”
Sen Const Pearce said the driver was very lucky to walk away without serious injury herself or causing someone else to be injured or killed.
Alcohol was not a factor, but police are still investigating the matter.

DETECTIVES are calling on witnesses to a fire at Melba Park in Lilydale in the early hours of Monday morning.
It is believed that unknown offenders attempted to set alight the new playground not long after 4am.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
