Birthday bash for lounge

By KATHRYN BERMINGHAM

THE Sooki Lounge is turning one and will throw a party this weekend to celebrate the occasion.
It’s been a memorable year for the lounge, hosting acts such as Tim Rodger, The Audreys and Claire Bowditch as well as building strong relationships with the local community, who have wholeheartedly embraced the business.
Sooki’s first birthday party will be held on Saturday 8 November and will feature musical acts The Woohoo Revue, The Willie Wagtails, Ben Kelly and Downstairs DJ Dungeon. As part of the celebration, entry will be free for all patrons.
Owner Stephen Crombie says that the lounge is grateful for the overwhelming community support during its first year.
“To celebrate our first birthday, we would like to thank the locals who have supported us.
“It’s great to see the changes that are happening in the hills, as more and more people move up this way and really seek to contribute to the local community.
Steve says that it has been pleasing to track the success of the business, whose Tapas kitchen and cocktail bar are fast becoming local attractions.
“There really is a buzz going on locally and I only believe it will get stronger!”
