Six of the best

YARRA Ranges Athletics welcomed Croydon Little Athletics to Morrison Reserve on Saturday morning for some friendly interclub competition. All athletes thoroughly enjoyed the day with the very warm weather contributing to some excellent results.
It was great to see the comradery of athletics come through as all the athletes laughed and enjoyed the company of the visiting athletes. Larger fields produced much-needed competition for both clubs. The club looks forward to many more meetings with our local clubs whenever the opportunity arises.
Yarra Ranges Athletics had several athletes competing at the Victorian All Schools Track and Field Championships, held at Lakeside Stadium over the weekend. An opportunity to compete at one of Victoria’s largest sporting events and places in the team to represent Victoria at the Australian All Schools Championships produced some outstanding results for all our athletes.
Six Yarra Ranges Athletics club members won their events to become Victorian All Schools Champions along with numerous other medallists. Congratulations to State champions Lucas Taylor (U20 5000m walk), Lateisha Willis (U15 90m Hurdles and 200m Hurdles), James Laven (U15 2km Steeple), Jack Videon (U18 Long Jump), Ebonnie Twinning (U20 Triple Jump), Lily Peacock (U14 800m) and to all our other athletes competing, many of whom recorded personal bests. Full results will be available on our website as soon as possible.
If you are interested in competing at the Region relays to be run at Doncaster on 23 November, contact Darren Ford asap.
New members of all ages and abilities will always be welcomed at the club. Go to the website at www.yarrarangesathletics.org.au for more information, results and training times.
