A NEW gymnastics program in Emerald has local kids reaching for their best.
Reach Gymnastics has recently opened its doors at Emerald Secondary College with the aim of helping kids realise their potential through fun, fitness and friends.
Program director Rebecca Tilley is a former National Level Six gymnast and current veteran’s gymnast. Aimed at school-aged children, she says the program is dedicated to teaching its gymnasts skills and helping them gain confidence.
“We’re getting kids moving and teaching them skills that they will use for life – how to land safely, how to roll, how to socialise with others and body co-ordination and awareness,” she said.
“Our classes show kids they can get fit and have fun at the same time, while learning new skills in a safe environment.”
Classes run on Friday nights from 5.30pm-6.30pm and 6.30pm-7.30pm and all coaches in the program are qualified and registered with Gymnastics Victoria. For more information on Reach Gymnastics visit www.reachgymnastics.com.
