Lyster Ward by-election

A MEETING for prospective candidates in the Lyster Ward by-election will be held this week.
Following Samantha Dunn’s move into state politics, the position of councillor for Lyster Ward has become vacant. The councillor will sit on the Shire of Yarra Ranges Council representing Lyster Ward, which covers Belgrave, Kallista and The Patch.
Candidates must be on the voters roll for the municipality to nominate in the election, which is to be held on Saturday 28 March.
Nominations for the position open on Thursday 19 February and close at 12 noon on Tuesday 24 February.
The information session will be held this Wednesday 18 February starting at 7pm. It will take place at Monbulk Community Link, 21 Main Road, Monbulk. Candidate information kits will be available on the night including nomination forms and other electoral information.
