Palatable prices at IGA

By KATHRYN BERMINGHAM

EXPERIENCE a great range of products, excellent prices and all your favourite brands without leaving the mountain at Mount Dandenong IGA Plus Liquor.
Open every day except Christmas from 8am-8pm, the IGA offers all supermarket departments, fresh meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, great deli and dairy products, frozen foods and a wide range of grocery products.
The liquor section offers a variety of local and imported beer, wine, cider, spirits. There is also swap&go gas refills and pre-packed kindling and wood for the open fire.
IGA’s ‘price match’ system applies to hundreds of items in the store, meaning you’ll pay the same prices as you will at the major chains.
Locals love IGA for its community focus. The store supports multiple community not-for-profit organisations, including the three CFA Brigades on the Mountain, football, netball and cricket clubs for both adult and junior players, local events such as the Chestnut festival and a wider group of charities such as the Cancer Council and Guide Dogs Victoria.
Owner Shane Wyles has been involved with supermarkets for almost 25 years, and has been running Mount Dandenong IGA for the last six.
He says his team of locals are hard-working and provide excellent service to customers.
“We have a great mix of experience and youth, the vast majority of whom live locally,” Wyles said.
“We are extremely proud of creating local jobs for local people, and we look forward to continuing to give many local kids their first chance at work in a local environment.”
Every four to six weeks, the IGA hosts a market day, which gives shoppers the opportunity to take advantage of further discounts on already great prices.
Shop locally, support the community and find all your favourite brands at low prices at Mount Dandenong Plus Liquor, located at 1522-1526 Mount Dandenong Tourist Road, Olinda. Open from 8am-8pm seven days a week, the store may be contacted on 9751 2428.
