Boy killed by tree fall

By KATH GANNAWAY

TRAGEDY has struck a hills family overnight.

A two-year-old boy was killed when a huge tree fell on the family home in The Patch.
The tree was brought down as a storm swept through the Dandenong Ranges at around 9pm.
The little boy was one of seven people in the house when the storm hit bringing down the massive gun.
Police said four adults and two children were removed shortly after the incident.
A 13-year-old boy was uninjured. A five-year-old girl was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital with bruising to her face and chest and an injury to her leg.
Ambulance Victoria acting Group Manager Geoff Davis said two Urban Search And Rescue trained paramedics crawled under the tree to find the young boy, but he had died.
His bedroom took the brunt of the tree.
Welfare services have been offered to the people involved and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
