Morison dominates

LAST Saturday at Emerald Golf Club, players were faced with the task of playing a great round with only three clubs.
The audible grinding of teeth was heard as players jettisoned some of their favourite clubs.
When the chickens all came home to roost it was Leigh Morison (18, carrying his 1 wood, plus his 5 and 9 irons) who came in with 38 points.
This was for the overall win and mastery of the B Grade cabbages.
A Grade came down to a countback and it evolved that Dennis Fuller (16) just pipped Steve Town (14) when they both scored 32 points.
Ian Scott (24) scored 35 and Dave Aitken (28) 34 to be the best of a pretty tatty bunch of scores
Mike Litchfield picked up the nearest the pin gong on the 4th, Morison the 7th, Ken Sumsion the 12th, Broc Reynolds the 13th while John Fisher pocketed the pro pin pelf on the 18th.
The ladies’ event showed a tight finish when two ladies could not be separated by the normal means. It was a dead heat between Phillipa Crossley and Kendra Sumsion so they had to share the spoils of victory.
Ken Sumsion (30) was the star among the players at Overly Flat Golf (OFG) when he carded 45 stableford points.
He was followed home at a respectful distance by Sepp Krummenacher (22) on 41 and Ken Hill (18) and Bobby Kennedy (19) who both had 40 points.
Next Saturday is the qualifying round for the 4BBB championship, so there is quite a bit of jostling for the players with good form as partners.
