A LILYDALE man hit by a car in Coldstream earlier this month has died in hospital.
Police believe the 54-year-old Lilydale man was crossing Maroondah Highway, near the intersection of Killara Road in Coldstream, about 10.30am on Thursday 12 March, when he was hit by a car.
He sustained life-threatening injuries as a result, and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
He died on Friday 20 March.
His death has been added to the road toll, and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
As of Monday 23 March, the road toll stands at 66 deaths – five more than the same time last year.
