Exchange the chance of a lifetime

THE Rotary Club of Healesville is encouraging enthusiastic students to consider applying for its youth exchange program, which closes on Thursday, 30 April.
The Rotary Youth Exchange offers students a chance to expand their horizons while enjoying some cultural education.
According to the Healesville club’s program co-ordinator, Stuart McDonald, to have the opportunity to study abroad is a life-changing experience.
“A year of study overseas on a Rotary Exchange gives the student an opportunity to learn a new language, develop an understanding of differing cultures, and the making of international friendships and much more,” he said.
“It provides a sound base for future education and career goals.”
The preferred age of applicants is between 15 years, 6 months; and 17 years, 6 months, at the time of departure, which is January next year.
Places are available in many countries.
These include Denmark, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Brazil, Taiwan, South Korea or Japan. To be eligible, applicants must be this year completing Years 9, 10, or 11.
Further information and an application form are available from Stuart McDonald.
