YARRA Valley netball clubs Mount Evelyn and Coldstream are enjoying the winter season at the new Pinks Reserve netball complex.
Mount Evelyn has 18 teams registered from under-9 through to the open section, giving Mount Evelyn a strong presence across the courts.
Under-15 coach Lisa Jones said the new complex was working well, not only for the players, but for the coaches, umpires and spectators.
“The design allows plenty of room for everyone to move around without getting in the way of the game,” she said.
“Having the coaches’ area allows us to watch the game with a great view of the court and players without being blocked by people walking past.”
Coldstream is also on a roll with nine teams, also from under-9 to open. Under-15 coach Liz Westwood agreed that the complex was a huge improvement on the old Mooroolbark courts.
“I love the new courts and the entire complex,” she said.
There was praise for everything from the great amenities including toilets and umpires’ and change rooms, to the beautiful surroundings and mountain backdrop.
“And, the surface is great, there are no tree roots to contend with, or overhanging trees and room for the umpires around the court,” Ms Westwood said.
