Vixen passes nutrition tips

MELBOURNE Vixens recruit Emily Mannix brought fruit smoothies, muesli and fitness to the Knox City Council Netball Association last week.
To celebrate the launch of the 2015 Netball Victoria Association Championships, Mannix dropped in to encourage the sport’s budding stars, who included Georgia Donnelly and Jemma Goldsack from the Ferntree Gully Netball Club.
Mannix, who now competes against some of the best netballers in the world, spoke of the importance of nutrition for elite athletes.
“There’s more to netball than meets the eye,” she said.
“A netball player is a valuable member of any team, whether that be on the court during a game or off the court at school.
“Playing netball is a great way to push yourself and shoot goals while having fun and staying healthy.”
Mannix and the young rising netball stars showcased their top 10 health tips, with fruit smoothies, apples, muesli, weights and other health/fitness items helping to set the scene.
