Planting session to mark World Environment Day

By VICTORIA STONE-MEADOWS

WORLD Environment Day falls this Friday 5 June, and Southern Dandenongs Landcare Group is holding two events to promote conservation, sustainability and environmental responsibility.
There will be a planting session taking place at Colby Drive Reserve in Belgrave Heights on 6 June and activities at Minak Reserve in Selby on 7 June.
There will be a walk-and-talk session where everyone can learn something new about their local environment and free refreshments will be served at each of the events.
Both events are family friendly and children are welcome to come along and get involved.
Those attending are cautioned to be aware of the cold and possibly wet conditions on the day, and sturdy footwear and warm clothing are definitely recommended.
Plants and tools are supplied in each of these lovely locations, but make sure you bring your own gloves and water bottles.
The Southern Dandenongs Landcare Group will be at Colby Drive Reserve between 9 and 11am or at Minak Reserve between 10am and noon.
Contact president of Southern Dandenongs Landcare Group on 0437 465 642 for more information.
