Bazaar fun for all ages

EMERALD University of the Third Age (U3A) will hold its annual Exhibition and Bazaar on Saturday, 4 October, from 10am to 4pm at the U3A building (402 Main St) in Emerald.
U3A is an organisation that provides educational and social experiences for anyone over the age of 50 who is retired or semi-retired.
For an annual fee, presently $40, anyone joining has the opportunity to attend a wide range of classes or activities including botanical art, poetry, Australian history, photography, creative writing, cosmology, woodwork, patchwork, yoga, table tennis and more.
The Emerald Men’s Shed is an integral part and a highly visibly part of the local U3A.
The event on 4 October, open to all, will showcase the work of U3A and, if anything like last year, will be a fun event for all ages.
The bazaar will feature a sausage sizzle, a bric-a-brac market, music, an auction of donated art and an exhibition and sale of woodwork, paintings, textile art and photography.
