Stars shine under lights

By JAMIE STRUDLEY

YARRA Ranges Athletics held the latest round of the Little Athletics season under lights last Friday night.
A fantastic turnout of athletes enjoyed the excellent conditions with numerous PBs and a few club records.
A small group of senior athletes travelled to Casey Fields on Saturday afternoon for Round 3 of the AV Shield.
Despite the inability to compete in several field events due to field maximums, some excellent performances by all our athletes resulted in very good team placings.
Many of our club athletes competed at the Victorian Primary School Track and Field Championships last week.
After some exhaustive qualifying competitions over the past few weeks, primary school athletes competed for state titles and the opportunity to represent Victoria at the Australian Primary School Track and Field Championships.
Congratulations to Kiara Flavel and Maddie Laven for being selected to compete at the Australian Championships.
Next weekend it is the turn of our secondary school athletes to strut their stuff at the Victorian All Schools Track and Field Championships.
The club wishes every member the best of luck.
Keep up to date on their respective performances via our website or Facebook.
It is still not too late to book your spot (or table) at the trivia night this Saturday night.
Plenty of prizes, games and fun.
