Fun run for pavilion

By STEVE UTTING

THE Monbulk Cricket Club is hosting the 8th annual Monbulk Fun Run this Sunday 29 November.
There is an 8km or 4km run/walk both starting and finishing at the Monbulk Cricket Ground.
Registration is between 8am-8.30am for a 9am start.
After the run/walk a big barbecue / fruit breakfast is supplied.
Funds raised go towards a new pavilion at our reserve as well as a local family in need.
Coffee van, cake stall, raffles and clothing swap also after the race as well as a Twenty20 MCC cricket match (under 30s versus over 30s).
Contact Steve Utting (utting.steven.c@edumail.vic.gov.au) if you can lend a hand as a volunteer on the day.
On the ground this week, unfortunately wet weather washed out all Friday night junior teams and Milo in2Cricket again.
The sun came out on Saturday and all of the below teams are midway through a two-day match.
Plenty of great results again, especially from our youngsters in all teams highlighted by 13 year-old Tom Taylor’s 4/15 in the 3rds, Thomas Badgery making 42 in the 4ths and is on 26 not out in the U16s.
Dan Rak also made his highest score in the U16s and will look to build on his 57no next week.
Scores:
1st XI – Monbulk 168 (S. Cosstick 69, B. Emmett 36) v Knox Gardens. 2nd XI – Knox Gardens 296 (D. Cleary 3/60) v Monbulk. 3rd XI – Monbulk 3/98 (D. Clark 53) v FTG 7/93 (T. Taylor 4/15). 4th XI – Monbulk 2/119 (T. Badgery 42, T. Utting 30no) v Eildon Park 4/120. U16s – Monbulk 2/135 (D. Rak 57no, T. Badgery 26no) v Eildon Park Wildcats 2/47.
