A MOTORBIKE rider has lost his life in a two-vehicle crash on Burwood Highway in Upper Ferntree Gully this afternoon.
The crash occurred just before 12.30pm on Friday, 8 April, on the corner of Burwood Highway and Dawson Street where Ambulance Victoria confirmed the rider was in critical condition.
Emergency services are in attendance at the scene and traffic control measures in place along the highway.
The female driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.
Other media outlets are reporting Burwood Highway will remain closed west bound.
Motorists are urged to seek an alternate route and avoid the area if possible.
