INSPIRATIONAL Indigenous singer and songwriter Fank Yamma will take the stage at the Montrose Town Centre on 28 May for a Reconciliation Week performance.
An award-winning artist, Frank Yamma said his performance was about storytelling and history as much as it was about music and soul.
“It’s really a huge kick for me,” he said.
“I really enjoy it relaxing and telling a story between songs.
“I tell local stories of other communities and from different towns and that region.”
Frank Yamma said he was glad to come back to the Dandenongs for Reconciliation Week as it was not the first time he had come to visit.
“It’s (reconciliation) about every Aboriginal people across Australia,” he said.
“It says people can live in their home and with their family and all this stuff happening all around, and I’m really glad I am playing that part of the show.
“I will be singing about songs that affect some other people in that area and what reconciliation is all about.”
Frank Yamma’s performance will include songs from his previous albums, his new album ‘Uncle’ and songs he has never recorded before.
Doors will open for this wonderful performance at 8pm on Saturday 28 May at the Montrose Town Centre with tickets available from www.culturetracks.info
