Bean keen in new role

MONBULK Cricket Club is pleased to announce the signing of Rick Bean as club coach for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.
Bean will also take on the leadership role as club captain.
The new coach has already met and spoken to about 60 of the playing group, outlining his expectations for the season ahead.
He joins the club with a stellar cricketing resume, having won 11 1st XI premierships across various associations both in Victoria and interstate, most of which in captain or captain/coach roles.
Bean has also coached many representative teams, most recently the Yarra Valley Cricket Association’s premiership winning Country Week team last season.
A top-order batsman, Rick has made in excess of 10,000 runs throughout this cricketing career and the club looks forward to his on-field contributions in the seasons ahead.
The club is excited about the next period on which they are about to embark, which is sure to include some great cricket, a lot of fun and laughter, and plenty of success.
Apart from Duncan Maher moving to Sydney, the 1st XI has retained all of last year’s players, including Ken Fleming MVP winner Shane Cosstick.
Next season, the club will be entering five senior teams and, along with their two Under 16s teams, indoor training will commence towards the end of July.
