Junior Hawks battle it out

THE Monbulk Junior Hawks travelled far and wide to take on several different clubs at several different venues.
Both 9A and 9B battled each other on Saturday before the Monbulk Hawks reserve game.
It was a great tussle, and all the kids enjoyed the game.
Both teams there turned around and played different oppositions on the Sunday.
The 9Bs backed up for their second game in two days.
They started off a bit slow, and Mount Evelyn came out full of run.
As the game went, they got into the match and had their chances to score, but it didn’t bounce their way.
The tackling and pressure in the defence was the highlight.
Awards: E. Knight, B. Downey, J. Sangser, N. Seamer, R. Crutchley
The 9As backed up after playing the previous day.
The guys were a bit tired and they got off to a good start.
The kids fought the game out well, leaving the parents extremely proud.
Awards: E. Griewrith-Rowe, M. Pithouse, J. Smith, J. Dawson, J. Bohun, J. Aldrigde
The team focus and team-play of 12Bs give the team success, and that is what Monbulk 12Bs did against a strong opposition in Mount Evelyn.
Goals: A. Bohun (2), T. Koelewyn, (2), J. Bateson, T. Rickard
Awards: T. McBride, N. Rutherford, J. Higgins, J. Downard – Pengilly, D. Doyle, I. Hylton-Stewart
The Under 14Bs had a tough day today; five goals in the first five minutes against was a bad sign.
To the kids’ credit, they held them to an acceptable score.
Goals: A. Green
Awards: A. Green, T. Ford, B. Hughson, G. Ross, B. Lee-Wren
Under 10s

Once again equal contributions from all players.

Under 12As.
Sun out and a great day for football up against Wandin.
The Hawks came out to play.
Good back movement and switching the play.
Nice to see the kids making good decisions.
Result Monbulk 8.7 (55) d Wandin 1.0 (6)
Goals: J. Bolton (3), C. Barge, J. Farmer, D. Komiazyk, N. Stack
Awards: D. Komiazyk, J. Spencer, M. Abraham, A. McDonald, J. Bolton
Under 14As had lots of good players, due to the amount of possession.
Lots of scoring shots, which needed to convert into goals.
Result Monbulk 11.21(87) d Wandin 2.3 (15)
Goals: D. Goldberg (4), J. McLachlan (3), J. Spencer (2), S. Farmer, R. de Hann
Awards: J. Spencer, D. Goldberg, Ryan, T. Sands, Campbell
The Under 16s had a fantastic day for footy and we were looking forward to the challenge against Wandin.
The boys worked hard to stick to their pre-match plan and Wandin’s physical pressure made winning the ball at stoppages hard work.
The boys showed some fantastic passages of play but struggled to stick with the opposition in the last quarter.
Wandin 12. 13 (85) d Monbulk 6.8 (44)
Goals: A. Banks (3), K. Linde, C. Marsh, D. Goldberg
Awards: K. Linde, T. Badgery, R. Hawker, C. Smith, C. Stiff
