Pokemon hunting catching on in hills

YARRA Ranges Pokemon hunters are flocking to Lillydale Lake to catch ’em all, with the popular Pokemon Go app taking off in the area.
The lake has been a hot spot for Pokemon hunters since the app launched earlier in the month, with the rare Pokemon Dratini spotted a number of times in the area.
The app uses geo-location data on phones, with the player having to move around in the real world to move their game counterpart – Pokemon appear in different areas as the player explores, and can be caught and trained as the player gathers more of the monsters and encounters other players at ‘gyms’.
The type of Pokemon that can be caught changes with different areas.
Pokestops, locations where players can stock up on items, are placed at various landmarks, with several scattered around the lake park.
The Mail sent photographer Greg Carrick to the lake on 16 July, to capture some of the hunt.
