Monbulk caps off a great season

MONBULK JUNIOR FOOTBALL
SEASON 2016 has been a successful one for the Monbulk Junior Football Club – both on and off field.
Last Sunday saw all the families coming together for the annual presentation day.
It is often said that players win contests, teams win games and clubs win premierships.
This rings true at the Monbulk Junior Football Club with an additional team being fielded this year (the Under 9Bs) and the success of the 12Bs and 14As premierships, won two weeks ago at a sunny Yarra Glen.
Families enjoyed seeing the players being recognised for their personal efforts and sportsmanship.
The following players received awards:
Under 9As Best and Fairest: J. Dawson; Runner-up Best and Fairest: J. Bowering; third Best and Fairest: J. Smith; Best Team Player: T. Higgins; Most Determined: Y.H. Kim.
Under 9Bs: Best and Fairest: E. Knight; Runner-up Best and Fairest: N. Seamer; third Best and Fairest: A. Moore-Dennis; Most Consistent: R. English, Most Improved, J. Fraser.
Under 10s: Best and Fairest: I. Bowering; Runner-up Best and Fairest: F. Thomas-Tatti; Third Best and Fairest: A. Teese; Most Consistent: T. MacKay; Most Determined: T. Kostich-Angerson.
Under 12Bs: Best and Fairest: T. Koelewyn and N. Rutherford; Runners-up Best and Fairest: J. Downard-Pengilly and L. Smith, third Best and Fairest: T. McBride; Best Team Player: S. Niclasen; Coaches Award: T. Rickard.
Under 12As: Best and Fairest: R. Finlay; Runner-up Best and Fairest: B. Smith; third Best and Fairest: J. Farmer; Coaches Award: M. Bateson, Most Consistent: W. Henderson.
Under 14Bs: Best and Fairest: B. Grimes, Runner-up Best and Fairest: T. Ford; third Best and Fairest: J. Niclasen; Most Determined: H. Hemara; Most Consistent: G. Ross.
Under 14As: Best and Fairest: T. Taylor, Runner-up Best and Fairest: L. Beecroft, third Best and Fairest: S. Farmer, Coaches Award: J. McLachlan, Most Improved: B. Woolridge.
Under 16s: Best and Fairest: K. Linde; Runners-up Best and Fairest: A. Banks and A. Richardson; third Best and Fairest: D. Rak; Most Improved: B. Rutherford; Coaches Award: C. Stiff.
Season 2017 promises to be an exciting one with the possibility of a girls’ team and a second Under 16s being added to the ranks.
