Movies with the stars

By Peter Douglas

THE enormously popular Cameo Outdoor Cinema returns to the region on Friday, 18 November.
For more than 10 years, the cinema has combined the magic of film and the picturesque region, which has helped to create the ultimate outdoor experience for cinema-goers.
The cinema features a 14-metre widescreen, headphones and picnic style area for deckchair and bean-bag seating.
The outdoor cinema opens one hour before each film, so there is plenty of time to soak up the setting.
All the biggest new release films will be available over the warmer months, along with some old classics.
This year’s program opens with J.K Rowling’s highly anticipated latest adventure, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’.
This season, also screening will be ‘A Dog’s Purpose’ and the new sequel ‘Red Dog: True Blue’.
The latter films will be part of the Bring Your Pet events, where patrons can enjoy on-screen animal escapades as they cuddle up with their own beloved pet.
Meanwhile, Valentine’s Day will have wine and ice cream giveaways for a Sweet Treats screening of ‘Fifty Shades Darker’.
The Cameo Outdoor Cinema is fully licensed, with a selection of craft beers and boutique Victorian wines available from the bar.
Patrons can bring their own picnic or feast on gourmet food options.
Tickets are available from the box office or online at www.cameocinemas.com.au.
