Respect for the Fallen

DANDENONG Ranges’ communities on Friday, 11 November, stopped to remember those who had fallen while serving their country.
On Remembrance Day 2016, ’Mail’ photographer Greg Carrick and journalist Jodie Symonds attended the Mount Evelyn and Emerald services respectively.
Decades have passed, but the ritual of the community service remains the same as a sign of great respect.
At the Emerald service, about 100 people attended some, including Emerald SES and RSL members, Emerald Primary School students, shop owners and team members, and the wider community.
In Mount Evelyn, among those present were Mount Evelyn RSL president Roger Boness, Reverend Richard Shoenmaker and Mount Evelyn Primary School students.
