Army of giving needs firepower

THE Salvation Army is urging the Yarra Ranges to support its critical Christmas Appeal, saying donations are desperately sought as the festive season approaches. Lieutenant Angela Locke from the Ferntree Gully Corps of the Salvation Army says they are seeking donations to be used as gifts they can give to children this Christmas. Lt Locke said there was a real need for presents for teenagers in the region, though they sought donations for ages from newborn to 18 years old. Meanwhile, Major Paul Hateley said: “The fact is the festive season can be a very difficult time for people who are facing a tough time, struggling financially or are alone.” To arrange a drop-off time for donations, please contact Lt Locke on 0402 464 206.
