THE first gold sponsors of the new multi-million dollar Monbulk Rangers Soccer Club headquarters were thrilled to see the newly laid synthetic pitch this week, with the grounds on target for the start of the 2017 season.
The club is offering gold, silver and bronze sponsorships to maximise the exposure of local businesses to the large crowds expected at the new centre, which will have two synthetic pitches and a state of the art club headquarters including a fully equipped canteen, change rooms and reception venue.
Club president, Lisa Doolan, said more than 30,000 people a year from across the metropolitan area are expected to attend the new venue, with the Club’s 700 members making it one of the largest in the state.
Gold sponsor, Richard Licciardi from MRE Property Marketing, said he was very impressed with the clubrooms and entire facility.
“As parents, Michael and I are keen to support all community projects that encourage our kids to exercise and stay healthy,” he said.
Neighbours Andrew and Kath Price of PLM Financial, whose head office is in Monbulk, and Anton and Anna Kirchmair of Yarra Ranges Estate winery in nearby Coulson Road, were quick to take up the offer of gold sponsorship.
The Kirchmair’s son James played for Monbulk Rangers and they said they ‘had a lot to give back’ to the club, while the Price’s three sons are current junior players.
Mr Price said the new ground was a ‘fantastic development’ and he paid tribute to the initiative of the Yarra Ranges Council in helping to fund it.
Monbulk and District Community Bank Branch, also a gold sponsor, has been a long time supporter of the club and manager, Aimee Te Boekhorst said it had been amazing to watch the progress of the new grounds, which she said would be an ‘absolute asset’ to the community.
