Car crushed by truck

By Peter Douglas

Olinda police attended a three-vehicle collision along Monbulk Road, Kallista, about 7.30am on Monday 13 February.
A large delivery truck and a small silver car collided, with the initial impact causing the truck to spin around and then collide, front-on with another vehicle.
The truck continued to spin, then crushed the black car against the embankment
According to police, the delivery truck had been travelling towards Monbulk, while the black car had been travelling towards Kallista.
Ambulance Victoria attended and tended to the drivers.
The driver of the black car, a young female, was conveyed to The Angliss Hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the silver car received treatment at the scene for minor cuts.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Leading Senior Constable Tim Wall said he was amazed the driver of the black car was able to walk away relatively uninjured.
“The accident could have been more serious because it was raining and occurred on a very narrow, winding part of the road,” he said.
Police fined the truck driver for careless driving and crossing double-lines.
